Boys!

Me, oh my! These boys seem to be fighting so much lately!! ALL .... THE .... TIME!!!  Intentionally annoying each other with noises, taking toys they know the other wants even though they themselves had no interest in it a few seconds earlier, sly little hits, bumps and shoves. I usually try to let them sort it out and keep telling myself that they're brothers and that's what brothers do, they're boys and that's what boys do, they do love each other!

But this morning there was a wonderful break in the conflict! They'd had their breakfast and that was it, they hadn't put on their school uniforms on, they hadn't brushed their teeth, they hadn't brushed their hair, they hadn't done the homework we were meant to do the night before. They'd shot straight into playing with their Hero Factory Lego and I didn't want to interrupt. They were fighting bad guys together, upgrading robots, working together to save the planet. All those lovely happy brother moments. It was wonderful, I even snuck in a quick shower while they played.

When I got out of the shower I overheard that they were still playing happily together, yay, and then I started listening to what they were actually talking about in their play.

Things had turned, ummmm ......... Gross!! They were talking about ripping bad guys heads off and throwing them at each other, eating robot arms and, the grossest part of all, 'GUTS LARVA'. Yes, a river of Guts Larva. Ewwwww. I asked Ollie if he had just said "Guts Larva" and he proudly said, "Yup, Guts Larva!". I asked if that was the gross thing that I thought it was, "Yup, just as gross!". Please, do yourself a favor and DON'T get a mental image in your head if what that looks like! ....... You just did, didn't you?!?

Anyway, they had a lovely morning together playing and THAT is what I'm going to focus on! Boys!!!

Let's start posting!!!

It's been so long, too long, since my last post and I feel like both you all and I have missed out on some pretty terrific goings on in these two unique little peoples lives. So, the time has come to get my hooty-tooty-patooty into posting gear and get some memories written down.

How good is technology these days, the BEST I say. Well, I've just discovered an app (how good are apps! There's an app for practically everything) that's going to make Blogger posting sooper dooper easy peasy lemon squeezy so you might actually get sick of hearing from me. But, truth be told, I'm not writing for you anyway so Ner-Ner, I'm writing for the boys to look back on in years to come and laugh their little heads off at how funny they were went they were youngens. I showed them this blog a few weeks ago and laugh they did. They loved it. So, ladies and gentlemen.......... Let the posting begin!!

Duplo, tower of death

One of Chris's tall tails.

Once a upon a sunday morning a tower grew, and grew, and grew. People gathered from all around the village and collected all the duplo lego they could find.

Ollie, chief designer controled the build. Instantly there was friction from Bailey, site foreman, forcing early construction to be demolished.

Final, the boys started to work together and the tower as born. Unfortunately many fingers and toes were lost in the construct due to poor work place health and safety.

All the villages were happy with their tower but GODS of the land looked upon it with jealousy. The gods sent their ferocious barbarous creatures to bring the tower to its doom. (refer image below for barbarous creatures)

It was a brutal display will only one winner.

Villages vowed that they would be back another sunday morning to rebuild the tower BIGGER and BETTER.

The end.

Is there a Doctor in the house??

I just asked Ollie what he wants to be when he grows up
and today he said he wants to be
"Ben 10 with a big Ben 10 watch"
but I think he's actually showing some
definite medical potential today.

His poor little Penguin Pillow Pet
(♪ ♫ ♬"It's a Pillow. It's a Pet. It's a Pillow Pet."♪ ♫ ♬
was feeling a little poorly today.

Apparently he had "Medicine inside of him and
there was dust and sugar in it"
Oh My!!

We found this out when we had to look inside him with an "Ultrasound (aka Ribbon Spool) to see everything
that was inside him".
This took quite a while. Had to be thorough!!

Pillow Pet was having trouble breathing so Ollie put
an Oxygen Mask (aka a tupperware juicer)
on to help him breath
Breath deep little Penguin!

Then he had to take Penguins temperature with
his "Scrapelizer Gapelizer" touching his back.
(Thankfully for Penguin, Ollie has never seen how the vet takes our cats temperature!).

It was touch and go for a while there because the
"Red bit is going all the way to the top and thats bad,
thats really, really bad", Ollie told me.
Hang in there little Penguin, Hang in there!!
After extensive testing, Ollie finally decide that the
best course of action was his trusty
"Grapelizer" (aka 'Straw').

He told me it was to fix Penguins heart. I suggested he
put it on Penguins chest to get a bit better access.
But "No Mum, it's for his Back Heart
...... Back Heart????
"The Grapelizer is used to get the bad heart and
pull it out and then put the good heart back in"
..... I wonder if the medical profession realise it's that simple!
He is very resourceful with his medical procedures,
but still I think a few years of training may be needed.
You know, with the whole 'Back Heart' thing and all.

But I do have BIG hopes for this little guy.
Come on Ollie, Mumma needs a new party dress!!

Me Hearties! Ya Scurvy Dogs, Walk The Plank! Arrrrrrr!

At the end of the year Kindy Christmas Party,
the preschoolers preform a little play on stage
in front of hundreds of Parents & Grandparents
To prepare them for this, the kindy that our precious
little'uns go to put on a mid year play
 as a kind of practice.
Now that Ollie is in Preschool and going off into
Prep at Big School next year,
we got to see his theatrical skills at work.
There's some cute photo's, but just you wait til you see the videos.
Not all of them are flattering for our usual little treasure
but he was tired and starting to get sick.

He mightn't look too happy in these first two photos,
but he was eating cheese.
I did get him to smile in one but when you get them to say
"CHEESE"
and cheese actually starts falling out of the Photographee's mouth,
It's not really the kind of photo you treasure for all time,
or one you want to show others!
The second Photo is Ollie doing his best Pirate
"ARRRRRR!!"

The beautiful backdrop mural at Kindy

And how do you get a cheeky, mischievous 2 year old
to sit still for the show??
With Candy of course!!

Miss Angel, the drama lady who spent 8 pain staking weeks organising the show.
And as you can see, Ollie was the only kid who refused to
let them put any face paint on him.
Difficult Actors!!

All the kids doing "Row, Row Row your boat".
Ollie's in the middle at the back.

Digging for the 'Treasure'

"A Sailor Went To See, See, See"

That's Ollie on the left bowing to his adoring fans.
It wasn't actually his turn to get up and bow,
but why make the public wait?
"OL-LIE, OL-LIE, OL-LIE!!"

I kinda feel bad about taking this pic but was just a little bit proud,
'cause you see that kid in the middle covering his eyes?
Well, he was crying.
Sad? Yes! My Kid? No! Happy? Yay!
How mean does that sound, but WAIT!! Let me explain!!

At last years Christmas kindy concert, all the kids happily
got up in their class groups and sang songs.
All the kids, except ours!
Ollie didn't want to go up on stage at all,
but after a little coaxing he reluctantly went on.
Every one was sitting there singing happily out to
an audience of smiling proud parents.
Everyone except our little golden haired boy named Oliver,
who was sitting up the back crying Santa's sack loads of tears.

I'd never seen him that sad before and it was utterly heart breaking!
A few of the other parents tried to point out to the teachers on stage
that Ollie was upset but no one noticed so Ollie just sat there.
All by himself.
Tears rolling down his face. Sobbing.

Eventually, I had to almost get up on the side of the stage to attract
someone's attention to get them to bring him off.
It took him the longest time to stop crying afterwards
and as silly as it may seem,
I was actually worried that he'd never want to do
anything like that again.

I wasn't worried that he would get THAT upset this time now that he's older,
I actually thought it was more likely that his little stubborn streak
would kick in and he'd just refuse to do it.
But he was fine! He did MOST of the play really well.
So, now, can you see why I'm just a smidge excited about the crying boy?!?! Maybe?

You can't see Ollie in this pic, but just wanted to show you the cute little Mermaids, Naaaaw!

Lining up for their Lollie Treasure Reward for a job well done!

You'll hear in the videos that Bailey had been waiting the whole time to give his big brother a cuddle.
And he jumped up the first chance he got.

Some unsuccessful Brother Photos

And Now time for the videos!!
Yippee!
(I just hope I put them in the right order)
(Some of the videos were really long so I had to split them.)
******************

This Is Ollie and the other Pirates Walking into the room.
How sweet! My Little Boy Loves him Mummy!

Here is "A Sailor Went to See, See, See"
Ollie got a little muddled up during it and I think that may be why he spent the rest of the morning singing it,
Over & Over & Over & Over Again!!
Practice, Practice, Practice!

Not quite sure what's going on it the next video.
I can tell he's starting to get tired because he's been blessed with the 'Crazy Tired' Gene that he got from him Mummy.
So this is Ollie being ........ Special!
You can also hear Bailey start getting a bit whingey because he hasn't been able to go up and give Ollie cuddles yet.

"Row, Row, Row Your Boat"
White Water Rapids style!!!

Aaaaaand, Yep, that's my son beating up the other kids!
REALLY getting tired now!!

"A Sailor Went to See, See, See"
Then onto
'A Sea Shanty Jig'
or as I like to call it
"Real Men Don't Dance"

Oh, and this is when Bailey REALLY started wanting
to go give Ollie Cuddles.
I actually had to cover his mouth at one stage!

Well, That's it!
I hope that this Post gave a bit of an over view of what went on at Ollie's Kindy Pirate Play
especially for those of you who
REALLY REALL REALLY
wanted to come watch but just couldn't make it.

Arrrrr, Ya scurvy Land Lubbers!

Home Gymnastics

Before I shoot off to bed,
here's some videos I just got off my phone
of our little Gymnasts in the making.

The First video is of Ollie doing his Cart wheels.
He's improving and I think he did pretty well
considering it was in his teeny weeny bedroom.
You mightn't be able to hear it properly but
Ollie asks for a treat at the end for his 'good listening'.
Pretty Cheeky considering he was the one who told me to film him,
Maybe I'm the one who deserves the treat???.........

Maybe I'll have one now to make up for it ........

Mmmm, I enjoyed my little treat, now, where was I? Oh ....

Bailey already looks up to his Big Brother.
This is Bailey trying to copy Ollie and his cartwheel attempts.
Not quite as flash as Ollies,
but I do see some definite potential there!!!

....... And he's just so darn cute to watch!!!

Good Night for Now xxx

Hmmmm, What exactly does a 4 year old dream about at night???

It was the middle of the night and Ollie
wandered out of his room to go to the toilet.
On his way past he sleepily said,

"Mummy, I just had the most amazing dream,
I'll tell you about it after I do wee's"

Perched on the edge of my seat,
I waited to hear about his
'most amazing dream'
but after he'd finished his wee's,
he walked straight back into his room.......
without telling me!!!

.......I went and helped him into bed and watched as he
quickly snuggled in deep under his doona
and started settling back in for sleep.

SO CUTE!!!! But.......
At this point I was simply dying to hear the story.
So again I asked him what his dream was about
and all he dreamily said with a sigh was,

"It was amazing"

I could see he was tired
but he'd built it up to be so darn exciting,
I just HAD to ask him again.
This time, he sat up in bed without opening his eyes
and he mumbled something
that I think was supposed to be words,
but seemed as though they had
somehow tripped over themselves
and got muddled up on their way out of his mouth
and ended up as gibberish.

Then he went quiet for a second
and finally said,

"Mummy, you're just going to
have to tell yourself, I'm too tired

and off he went to sleep.

I guess I'll never really know what his amazing dream was about,
but I think I'm happy just to have this memory.

Good night my little man, may all of your nightly dreams be
'most amazing dreams'.

Ollie, Bailey-Bailey & Bailey-Bailey-Bailey Byron

Ollie LOVES babies!
Loves, Loves, Loves, Loves Them!!
He's told me a few times that he wants me to have another baby.
But sorry to disappoint, Sooo not going to happen!

Just a few days ago some very dear friends of ours welcomed
their second little baby into the world and last night we got to meet her.

There's nothing quite like New Baby Cuddles!!

Ollie walked right up to little Amy Grace and whispered "She's beautiful".
The moment didn't last long because he then trotted off
to play with their other daughters toys.

On the way home after our visit, Ollie sat quietly in the back seat then suddenly asked,
"Mum, are you going to have two more babies", Nawwwwww.
And even as Clucky as my lovely Amy cuddles made me, the answer was

"Noooooooooooooooooooo!"

To distract from his disappointment,
Chris and I asked him how many babies he wanted when he was older. He answered,

"Two"

When asked if he wanted girls or boys, he answered

"Two Boys"

When asked what he would name these two boys, he answered quite determinedly

"Bailey-Bailey-Bailey"

and the other one?

"Bailey-Bailey"

And to think, we were never quite sure whether Bailey was the right name to choose for Bailey.
I guess Ollie is pretty happy with it since he's naming BOTH his boys that, multiple times.
Kinda wonder what his partners feelings will be on the matter! Hmmmm!

P.S. I have Bailey sitting on my knee as I am writing this and
he's spent the last few minutes staring at the photo, recreating the cheesy smile.

So cute & totally worth the inconvenience of only being able to type with one hand!!

My Very Own Cleaning Fairy!

I've been trying to make a few kid thingys to sell on Facebook to make
a little extra coin and keep my Mummy brain active.
Because of this, the Little Byron Brothers have become
very grateful guinea pigs for my creations.
My newest project is 'Ribbon Wands'.
That's what Ollie is swirling around in his hand if you were wondering.

This morning, just as I finished sweeping up several days worth of little boy grubbiness,
Ollie, my little cleaning fairy, attempted to wave his new magic wand and
grant me a special little cleaning wish.

Unfortunately, I don't think the magic works when anyone is watching
'cause I still had to finish the sweeping myself!!

HOW GOOD ARE BIG BROTHERS!!!!!

I know this post says that Big brother are good, but this actually doesn't really have much to do with Ollie except for his outstandingly good influence because ......

BAILEY DID HIS FIRST WEE ON THE TOILET!!!!

How awesome is that!! It feels as though Ollie only just finished toilet training a little while ago and now Bailey is showing his first little signs of readiness already!
And he's only 21 1/2 months old!
He didn't actually ask to go to the toilet but one side of his nappy came undone so I thought,
"Why not give it a try?"
I took him into the toilet and told him to do a wee, and what do you know,
wee he did!!

Who would have ever thought I would be this excited by Urine!!

Well done Bailey-Bear!
Mummy is SUPER Proud!

Fluffy Numbers!!

Ollie was playing on his bed earlier and suddenly started frantically shouting,
"MUMMY, MUMMY, MUMMY, MUMMY LOOK!!"

In my crazy split second imaginings,
I pictured a gigantic furry spider handing from the ceiling just about to pounce.

But NO!!

After practically Flying in from the balcony,
I discovered Ollie's little smiley face staring down at something on his bed.

"Look Mummy, the fluff made a number."
were his very quiet words.

Right now, you probably have the same amused but slightly baffled look on your face that I did.

It was only on closer inspection that i discovered that a piece of my hair (aka 'fluff')
had made it onto Ollie's bed and twirled itself around into the number '6'.

So even though it was a piece of my clean, shiny, sweet scented hair   :0D
and not 'fluff', Ollie was right, it had made a number.
Ollie told me it was the number '60', but I figure close enough.

Clever little monkey!
